damn, your drill press looks as old as mine .. great how too.. these are things i've done for years.. i guess i take it for granted that folks just know all these little tricks.. this is stuff that dates back to our chopper beginnings for alot of us.. its great you take the time to bring it forth & pass it on.. when you dont have all the modern stuff & arent a machinist like i'm not.. you just learn how to make things work for you.. black jack has long been one of my favorite guys to watch work..

I got that drill press for free from the docks. They were throwing it out because the base was cracked where the pillar slots into it.

I ground out the crack, welded it up, and put it back together. Been using it ever since.

I don't really want to begin this paragraph with "I" but fuck it, I've also added a few "random" videos which aren't actually that random. I'm trying out something, and I have no idea if its going to work, but I figured the way some of the pieces were made might be of interest whether or not the whole thing works...

I get through one or two of the shirt jackets a year.

Normally I set the front of it on fire and burn big holes in it. That one I had it about two days and snagged the back on something, ripping it like that.

Didn't amuse me much, especially as it's stood up well since.

yeah i do alot of steel structures now and i catch every piece of clothing on fire or get snagged on some angle or i-beam and ruin everything i wear i must go threw about a grand a year in work cloths.
