Wow, that's clean. I can see why you wouldn't want to cover that up.

I've always envisioned a trike with skinny spoked rear wheels and an oak and stainless rear deck like a vintage pick up.
After seeing that rear end, it would have to be removable or have hinges.

...is that a parking brake lever?

You guys still have all that old stuff running around for parts.
HERE, everything has gone to the scrap yards. Boooo!! Coming back as Jap, or Chinese steel.

Closest we could get to it here is a Mustang 2 or Toyota.

Bear, when ya going to get that "thang" together???

ya,got to have the parking brake over here, its good though saves me running down the road trying to catch the trike,me and running dont get along.i have to go over to the uk to get these axles,so i wait till im getting a load of stuff.i cant get nothing here in ireland.the front end , wheel ,carburetor, gas tank, aluminium round bar,and hand controls came from the usa.rear axle and engine ,and rear wheels from the uk. postage can be expensive, then the customs over here try to charge you again for parts that you cant get here.right im done crying now.

Excellent! I guess most home builds have them, or figure out they need them later after a good scare. Great craftsmanship.

I know about you're situation on getting parts.

I tried to build a custom when stationed in Spain. RIGHT..
If it was too big a box or too heavy, it wouldn't come through a FPO. (fleet post office)

trike

For my build I was lucky to get an old 73 opel ant the back axle seems to be first class. On a trial run to see how it ran I was able to get28mph in first gear so should be good for well over the ton. I will try and post some pics of the build so far but you will see its not up to danneys standard. Thought about cutting the axle down a bit but would have cost too much.

does the extreme angle on that drive shaft going to be a problem or is it not extreme enough because it is rigid?

no it dont seem to be causing any problems.i had it set up for a different engine a xv920. when i changed to this engine it put a bit more angle on the drive shaft, works fine though.
