well heres the best update i have.. i got the windvest mounts sorted out.. i calculated the ones i had couldnt be modified & be long enough, so i found some that were perfect online..i had to drill 2 holes in the windsheild bracket, but they worked great.. i got a new sheild replacement ordered, so said & done, the whole gig was less than 125.00 for a 300.00 plus sheild & it looks too cool on this new bike.. i got the detroit bro.'s moto-chain shift linkage in & it was a perfect fit.. thanks to puzzled & the one i got for my chopper i got their length rating figured out nicely.. speaking of my brother puzzled, he got me a black kicker arm with the minimal offset, as the one i had was way offset & hindered my leg on that side from touching the ground well.. the thickness of a 6 speed trap door & the added width of the kicker cover required far less offset in the kicker arm.. after an ordeal on ebay with black dual filament nightster blinkers, i went to H.D. & ordered a new set , to be mounted on the lower shock stud as additional tail & brake lights.. turn signals wont be sported on this bike , as on all my bikes.. FUCK A BLINKER , a horn & a frt. brake light..the DMV inspection guy here is pretty cool.. his opinion is i'm registering the bike & inspection sticker issues are between me & the station i go too for it.. also speedo's are recomended but not actually required here.. the guy is real decent about his job..its sorta refreshing to find one thats not a total ass.. I also got a vintage harley race team points cover , which is lightly engraved & outlined in H.D. orange .. very cool part, that will add some serious contrast.. i got the mounting studs for the front driving lights.. bear in mind everything has to be neat , clean, & streamline.. so now i am in search of some black bullet shaped driving lights.. lazer star makes some, but WOW , the price....single filament with a halogen bulb is the order of the day.. the tins are black, the trim strips polished aluminum , stainless mount studs, so black is best on the light, though my headlight is chrome , so the kuryakyn small silver bullets may be what i use if i can find anything cool in a black finish.. the color from frt. to rear on these lights isnt as important as the shape blending in.. if i use the kuryakyn lights , i have extra trim rings i can have black powdered.. that may be the best way to go.. though i have my entire carb./ intake/airbox set up for the motor, & the regulator in place & ready, all the wiring laid out & the ignition ready , a turn of events have slowed the motor purchase.. out patient surgery for the wife is using that cash up.. or most of it anyway , which is why i brutally attacked the buying & installation of all the small items.. after the lighting a tool bag mount plate will be made from thin stainless plate & attached to a tool bag , that will mount to the bolt under the lower triple tree.. also the rear saddle bag mounts will be started.. my leather guy says if i find ready made bags i like he can sandwhich the plates between another added piece of leather & sew it to the rear of the bags & even lace the edges to please me.. so thats a good thing.. i'm gonna discuss the brackets with him as less would be better for me.. & we cant forget the designing of a sissybar pad for the wife.. the chopper & its lack of comforts for a passenger is what inspired the wife to prod me into building this new bike.. like i needed alot of prodding ... even though my wifes back prevents her from going on long rides, she does enjoy riding .. often when she is with me , we trailer to various places & events , where she can then handle & enjoy the shorter rides.. so thats where the build is at.. not dead , just slowed down slightly.. if i could get a buyer for the chopper i'd be on easy street & i am open to reasonable offers on the price of the chopper.. theres a tad of powdercoating needed on the windsheild bracketry , but that wont stop a progress pic. or 2 , where the small added touches are very seeable..
thank you all for looking..
