a buell build for an iraq war veteran

my brother has returned to germany safe and sound.it seems as if he and family will be back in the states in early november.

well i have been thinkin for quite a while id like to build him a bobber to run around on base when he returns to the states.in fact i'm being ambitious as hell but i want to present this bike to him on thanksgiving day.

no ne in my family will know about this but my wife and i and on thanksgiving day i want him to ride it.

so i talked with a few guys from chopperweb and man did they come through.

what exactly makes a rotor float?

splain lucy, splain.iam very green about harley stuff.

give me some opinions guys .should i strip the injection and carb it or let it go and try to graft the wiring harness?

so to start the list:

front end.
tires,,,,,(on closer look ,the tire i got from bibs is cracked and dry rotted.sorry bibs)
seat,,,wanna a sprung seat.

sissy bar/fender strutts
gas tank, handlebars

i would like to get rid of the plastic controls that came with the beull and do some 1" chrome controls.

turn sigs tail light.
speedo,tach.

i have forward controls that need reworked but my be good for this project.

i can offer powdercoating to anyone as a trade,as well as media etching.

I got sissy bars if you want one. Two styles a cross or the traditional 3 spike . Here is a pic of them. They are kinda rough but I figure you could powder over them, paint them or strip them and re-chrome. If you want one let me know.

Man... I pretty much have no discernable building skills... currently just stripping my buddy's old V-Star down to repaint as a tribute to him... so I don't have any parts or expertise to offer...

But...

I am a screenprinter. Business has been slow as shit over the past couple of months, so I'm in dire straits at the moment... but school just started back up and things will be picking back up shortly. I don't know if this would help at all... but it may help raise some coin. I'd be happy to design and print some tees for you dirt cheap. You could sell them to your friends and family for a pretty good profit and help offset some of the cost.

Just a thought. I'm a veteran myself. I'd love to help out any way I can.

Hope this doesn't break any rules... just wanted you to be able to check out some of my work if you're interested.

Gudgean, I'm no harley guy either but from what I understand, floating rotors mainly help with heat dissapation. Since they're running cooler, the rotors will run more efficiently & won't warp as easily.

The ones I have have never been mounted. They were listed as '99 & below Harley rotors, but my buds tell me they're for 2000 & up. I had to order different ones.
